Separate the camera purchase from the ongoing cost of keeping footage.
Start with the recording path
A camera can offer live viewing without offering free recorded history. Check where clips are saved, how long they remain and what happens if the device is stolen. Local does not always mean offline
Storage location, remote access and notifications are separate functions. A product may store recordings locally while using online services for setup or push notifications. eufy specifically notes that notification thumbnails can be stored temporarily in the cloud. Review the features you intend to enable, not just a “no subscription” label.
